Timber & Ageing

Timber is a natural product which may crack, split, discolour or expand and does not detract from the quality of the product supplied. All timber is *tanalised (pressure treated) not dipped – unless stated.

Tanalised timber is protected with TANALITH E wood preservative, a unique formulation product consisting of copper and dual biocides, providing the very best protection against decay and insect attack. Especially for timber which is used in contact with the ground. It has a distinctive pale green colouration, which fades to a honey brown and eventually silver grey.

You don’t need to paint the timber to maintain the integrity of the treatment, however, you may wish to stain the timber to enhance the products appearance.
